FACIAL BONE FRACTURE – HOW WE GET YOUR OLD FACE BACK @ RICHARDSON’S
FACIAL BONE FRACTURES……..???
The face has a complicated bony structure; more or less it
resembles a jigsaw puzzle comprising of bones of forehead, nose, cheeks, eyes,
upper jaw and lower jaw. Break-in one or more among any of these bones causes
fracture of facial bone.
WHAT IS THE MOST COMMON FACIAL BONE FRACTURE…???
Nasal bone (Nose) is the most common site in the face.
Multiple fractures are always associated with high impact road traffic accidents.
Facial fractures can also occur only on one side of the face or on both sides
of the face.
HOW LONG IT TAKES A FACIAL BONE FRACTURE TO HEAL..???
Unlike any other fracture, Facial bone fracture also requires a complete evaluation by an expert surgeon. The healing period completely depends
upon the structures damaged along with the fracture, intensity, and severity of
the fracture. Minor hairline kind of fracture can take 2-3 weeks or more with
proper medication and rest. Major fractures can take up to 6-8 weeks and proper
treatment protocols including fixing the fractured segment and proper
medications
HOW CAN WE TREAT FACIAL BONE FRACTURE….???
Major fractures
require surgical and non - surgical fixation, stainless steel wiring in upper
and lower teeth, plating and securing the fractured segments with mini plates
and screws.
Evaluating the
surrounding structures such as muscles, nerves, and lacerations, etc.
Fracture involving the
eye socket should be treated with special care to secure the delicate contents
